Wow! What a month October was for Wyma and Co. as we  held our first semi-annual show the 17-19.  The show was a huge success. Monday through Wednesday of show week it rained.  But Thursday morning the sun was beautiful, sales were good, we saw old friends and made new ones.  That all adds up to success in my book.  The 1907 Queen Anne Lady, though not quite complete, was enjoyed by everyone who walked through her doors.  Steve and I feel truly blessed to have been able to bring the tired rooms to life with paint, varnish, new items and lots of  love (and patience too)..A big thank you to all our friends who helped out, shopped and those who just came by to say hello!

Where did the time go?

For me, most of it was spent sanding, caulking and painting.  Wow, I did not realize how much woodwork is in this 1907 beauty.  Also, my plan of giving her a makeover, with cleaning and painting, soon became plastic surgery.  Replacing sinks caused pipes to break, sheet rocking called for crown molding and removing old tile and carpet required new pine and hardwood.  Then, my wonderful husband decided he did not, and never had, liked the nearly flat patio roof his dad had put up several years ago. So down came the boards and metal and up went a gabled, shingled roof to match the house. This project was like taking off an arm and putting it back. Only now the roof is with keeping of the house and looks great.
